Don’t get stuck in a wine rut this summer:

SPAR gets set for summer with its first ever national Wine Festival

From the 22 April to 2 June SPAR will be rolling out its first ever national Wine Festival across its 2,100 licensed UK stores, and with 25% off over 35 different wines– you can afford to be a little more adventurous.

For lovers of the New World, and in anticipation of the World Cup which kicks off this summer, SPAR is offering 25% off a selection of their South African wines including the SPAR Reserve Chenin Blanc. A highlight from the range and real crowd pleaser, this fresh, crisp wine from the Cape has hints of pineapple and tropical fruits and will hit the shelves at just £3.99.

The Alexander Fontein Shiraz, the latest release from the Ormonde Estate and exclusive to SPAR, is also on offer with 25% off to £5.99. This deep, intense wine with aromas of tar, pepper and blackberry fruits is ideal for those who like a big wine with its rich juicy palate and smooth finish. Similarly, the Alexander Fontein Sauvignon Blanc, a double gold medal winner in the 2009 Veritas awards, has intense asparagus flavours rounded off with undertones of passion fruit.

Those who prefer a more traditional wine from the Old World won’t be disappointed with some great offers on French wines, including SPAR’s Chablis. This elegant wine has a dry, crisp flavour and will be on offer during the Wine Festival reduced to £7.99.

Similarly the Chateau Henry de France, a brilliant ruby red Bordeaux, will be available with 25% off at just £5.49.

Over the past six months, SPAR has undertaken a complete overhaul of its range of wines, with new designs and new suppliers on around 35 of its 50 own-brand wines. This includes entirely new ranges of French, South African, Chilean, Australian and Californian wines.

SPAR UK Wine Controller Laura Jewell MW said: “We have committed real investment and resource into finding some of the best wines for our own branded range and it is great to be able to bring them to the market at genuinely great value.

"The SPAR Wine Festival is designed to make it easy for people to try something new this summer without breaking the bank. We’re very proud of our range and really do believe we have something for everyone regardless of preference. With such fantastic deals on our wines, from entry level to top of the range, you can afford to be a little experimental." she said.
