SPAR bag design contest invites designers with creative minds to join in

SPAR Austria has introduced the www.spar.at/bagdesign website to invite everyone to participate in an international creative competition: The SPAR bag design contest asks for creative ideas around the fas-cinating world of food in order to enthuse the top-class jury and the online community with their own designs of SPAR and INTERSPAR shopping bags. This is the only way to win the competition including prize money and soon one million copies of the own artwork on the streets of Austria.

Theme of the competition is „The fascinating world of food“
What exactly is the SPAR bag design contest? Professional and hobby designers are invited to design a shopping bag for SPAR and INTERSPAR shopping bags around the theme „the fascinating world of food. The design can be submitted until the 27th of July by using the website launched by SPAR Austria: www.spar.at/bagdesign. Furthermore it is possible to review the submitted designs.

Already more than 480 designs from 340 community members
Although the competition has only been launched the 8th of June 2008 and exists just for a couple of weeks, already more than 480 designs from 340 community members as well as more than 3,300 reviews are visible on www.spar.at/bagdesign.

Top class jury
“With this competition we want to offer creative designers the unique op-portunity to use the SPAR shopping bags as a platform to promote their ideas in Austria – one million times. Join in and present your view on the fascinating world of SPAR!“ reasons SPAR CEO Dr. Gerhard Drexel his participation in the jury of three. In addition to Mr. Drexel, Dr. Eva Dichand, editor of the daily newspaper 'Heute' as well as Gerald Kiska, Managing Director of Kiska Design will be part of the jury. Next to the publication of the own artwork on one million bags the winners receive a price money of more than 5.000 €. The money will not only be split between the most crea-tive artists, but also the most active community members of the SPAR bag design contest will be rewarded.
