SPAR Hungary opens a state-of-the-art supermarket in Tököl and re-opens five stores which were extensively modernised.

On 17 March SPAR Hungary opened the SPAR supermarket in Tököl, a former retail store converted to modern SPAR standards. In total SPAR Hungary invested about €435,000 in the redevelopment of the store which is the first SPAR store in that city. The opening created 21 new jobs in the community.

The state-of-the-art store with a sales area of 980m2 offers customers the benefits SPAR customers are used to, namely choice, great service and high quality shopping experience. In addition to fresh foods and A-brand items, customers can also buy a wide variety of quality SPAR private label products at favourable prices, including products aimed at customers with specific dietary requirements or lifestyle choices as well as bakery products prepared instore.

In addition to the development of the new store in Tököl, SPAR Hungary also spent more than €323,000 renovating stores in Gárdony, Harkány, Sümeg, Sajószentpéter and Szolnok. These stores were all equipped with a new bakery department whilst the deli, cheese and meat counters were renewed. To improve energy efficiency, dairy cabinets were fitted with glass doors and LED lighting was implemented throughout. The redeveloped stores continue to offer familiar SPAR values but in a more modern shopping environment.
